The Karnataka State Contractors Association has claimed that nearly ₹38,000 crore in pending bills remain unpaid across state government departments, with dues allegedly accumulating over the past four to five years.
The contractors' body has warned of a statewide protest in November if the pending payments are not cleared. It has also alleged widespread interference in tender allocation and claimed that commission demands have increased under the current government.
The Karnataka government has not yet responded to the allegations. The contractors have also threatened to release more documents in December if their demands are not addressed.
