Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met Indian President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi during his visit for the BRICS leaders’ summit. The meeting comes a day after Pezeshkian held talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with India stressing the need to protect freedom of navigation, commerce and the safety of seafarers. India has been particularly affected by attacks on vessels in the region, with at least 10 Indians killed. New Delhi continues to balance its ties with Iran, Israel and Arab nations.
