Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to Punjab has triggered a political confrontation over the state's drug crisis, gang violence and the Centre's role in tackling cross-border smuggling.
During his visit, Amit Shah is expected to meet the families of anti-drug activist Parminder Singh Jhotta and attend an event focused on eradicating drugs from Punjab. The visit comes after Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann ordered a CBI probe into Jhotta's murder.
