Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the killing of a local BJP leader Gul Mohammed Mir, who was shot dead by suspected terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district. The state Governor Satya Pal Malik directed chief secretary BVR Subrahmanyam to conduct inquiry into the killings of various political people in the state in the last few months. He emphasized that all political leaders should be given security at any cost.
