The Goa BJP chief, Vinay Tendulkar has said that his party will arrive at a decision on Manohar Parrikar's successor by 3 pm today. Allies in Goa, Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) and Goa Forward Party (GFP), have rejected Speaker Pramod Sawant as Manohar Parrikar's successor, sources have told NDTV. Both parties say the Assembly can be kept in suspended animation till the alliance arrives at a solution, sources said. Hours after Manohar Parrikar's death on Sunday evening, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari met alliance partners in state capital Panaji to decide on a successor and save the BJP-led coalition government as the opposition Congress staked claim to power for the second time in two days.
