Christian Lindner, leader of Germany's Free Democratic Party, was pelted with a foam cake during a campaign trail speech. The attacker, a 34-year-old member of the Left Party, has been charged with assault. Lindner jokingly responded, "Could have done better," referring to the lack of cream in the cake.
